Fairey Gannet 1:72 Die Cast AV7252002 UA+106 German Navy, Preserved Berlin-GatowDeveloped for the Royal Navy, the Fairey Gannet was the first fixed wing aircraft to combine both the search and strike portions of anti submarine warfare (ASW) operations by the Fleet Air Arm (FAA). It was fitted with a double turboprop engine driving two contra rotating propellers and first flew in September 1949. The real aircraft modelled here wears the markings of its time in the Luftwaffe and has survived into preservation, where it can be found
